Dai Stanton –
Deputy Area Director,

Mr. Dai Stanton is the deputy director of the
Space Internetworking Services Area.
Mr. Stanton was previously a member of CCSDS Panel 1F, and
is a co-author of the CCSDS Advanced Orbiting Systems and
CFDP recommendations as well as a contributor to development
and implementation of the Proximity-1 recommendation.
Mr. Stanton is a UK based consultant to the space industry
and to space institutions. He has participated in a number
of international design efforts including Columbus, Beagle
2, Mars Express, Skynet, Galileo and STRV. His primary areas
of expertise are in onboard and ground data handling systems
and space communications. Mr Stanton lectures on data
handling systems for Southampton University's spacecraft
systems engineering course. His current interests are
primarily in the migration of space technology into the
design and operation of high altitude, long endurance
unmanned aerial vehicles and in the application of
disruption tolerant networking to terrestrial and aviation
environments.
